Gouache

Here’s a medium I’ve never worked with, except during a colour theory course, where we learned that gouache provides a very intense colour. I wanted colour, so I worked over a charcoal landscape on mylar. I’m developing layers using various applications of gouache, such as the use of toothbrushes, forks, sponges, paper towels, rollers and large palette knives. Interesting! I think one more layer at least, perhaps defining some of the larger shapes? Not sure what direction this will take. These are the first two stages….more developed stage is on the left.
